First launched by Science North in 1999, Nature Exchange began as a pioneering exhibit where visitors could trade natural objects—like rocks, shells, and artwork—for points based on their knowledge and curiosity. Rooted in experiential, inquiry-based learning, it quickly grew in popularity, with more than 14 trading centres now active across North America.  

Today, the spirit of Nature Exchange lives on, reimagined for 2025 with refreshed branding, stunning turnkey components, database updates, and an interactive visitor app that takes learning and engagement to the next level. 

Now available as a temporary or permanent installation, the all-new Nature Exchange fuses real-world nature exploration with interactive learning and digital innovation.
